DAY 2 in Taiwan and I visited the previously tallest building in the world TAIPEI 101 formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center (臺北國際金融中心). This makes for some immense photo opportunities and views over the city. Standing at over 500m tall this is the centre piece of Taipei.
As of 18 April 2019, it is still the world’s largest and highest-use green building. The Taipei 101 is designed to withstand typhoon winds and earthquake tremors that are common in the area in the east of Taiwan. Inside the building there is information on the technology used to achieve this.
After I exited the building I went on a short hike up the Elephant trail that gets you the best view of the TAIPEI 101 and the surrounding city from a distance. This is a short walk from the TAIPEI 101.
This is the 2nd in a 3 part series of Taipei. In part 1 my footage includes arriving in Taipei and making my way to my Airbnb, enjoying street food in the night market and checking out a local drinking spot as part of Taipei nightlife. In part 3 I visit the Temple Hill Art Village as well as the Ximen district of Taipei that is a bustling part of the city before eating at the famous Din Tai Fung dim sum restaurant.
I am using a DJI Osmo pocket to film the vlog and this was the first trip in which I had used it so I apologise for any sound issues and any excessive movement with the camera. With each vlog I should improve on my editing and the footage captured.
This was filmed in November hence there is no mention of the coronavirus and the reason no one is wearing face masks.
