Loved this interview! I’m also a halfie (Taiwanese-Korean) and intending on living in Taiwan for a few years to work remotely on my own businesses- hopefully soon! Also planning to study Chinese intensively, but at NTU 🤗

I've always felt a connection with VxG's channel and this time with James over here it's up to another level. I'm Taiwanese but my family moved to HK almost 15 years ago and so I'm currently working in HK. Moving back to TW has been at the back of my mind for so long, and more so since the political unrest in HK. I'd really like to ask James how he had the courage to make such a big move to leaving a decent job (I'm assuming), fam and friends to move to TW? Considering the obvious stuff like salary, politics and potentials? And did your fam support your decision?
Tysm to VnG for making these contents, it really feels like listening to a friend.

What does Taiwanese think about Thailand? Dirty? Grace, I feel that Taiwanese or Asians in general never become confident and happy about your "great" existence until you obtain approval or a rubber stamp from the "West"; Victor, all the "Westener" Youtubers showing Taiwan or Asia make fortune by cunningly exploiting such sentiments, don't they? If you really care for people or societies, you'd want to have critical views. Probably, that's how you have learned in Canada or view Canada or the West. I am afraid that your channel reminds me of the mad Chinese bragging their great nation elsewhere.

Taiwan is nearly invisible in Europe because their governments generally want China's huge market and accept China's claim to Taiwan. As a result, Taiwan is excluded from international arenas.
Although people in Hong Kong use traditional characters, I can understand their expressions or language less than 10 % because the way to describe things and phrases are different between Taiwan and Hong Kong . They have many special characters I've never seen before.
Hong Kong is a Chinese city actually because UK officially handed it over to China in 1997 and many foreigners might feel it more and more difficult to live there.

Insightful interview. Yes we don’t know much about Taiwan. Good contrast of culture. However, I thought your guest name was “James Bond.”
