After COVID-19 started, we kept a eye on things. As the end of March 2020 came, we could see we needed to leave Taiwan and return to Canada, or stay and live in Taiwan until it passed. We booked flights for March 24th, and later found out Air Canada was scheduled to suspend flights on March 28th from Taiwan. We got out in the nick of time. This is our trip back home. The trains, airports and planes that were usually a bustling area of activity, were completely empty. it was surreal as we walked through the airport and only saw staff members and just about no travelers at all. The staff outnumbered the travelers 10 to 1 I’m sure. Thank you to all the staff, from train people, to janitors, to all the airport staff and flight attendants and pilots.
