Taiwan Cycling Trip #1: Arrival in Taipei, build bike & ride to Tamsui (台北 – 淡水)

Decided to escape cold Japan and do some cycling in Taiwan. This video is about my departure and first day in Taipei, where I built my bike and did a quick ride from Taipei to Tamsui after an all-nighter of traveling.

The weather forecast called for rain, so I wasn’t planning on riding very long. However, the skies cleared up, and I had a great ride! Too bad I didn’t wear sunscreen though, since I did get a little sunburned.

This is my second attempt at making a vlog.. Hopefully some improvement compared to my first one last week.. Still a lot to improve on though. Definitely a fun learning process though.

EDIT: Mistake on travel dates. Should be Feb 3rd departure and Feb 4 arrival.

I do this bike route at least once or twice per month, I love it! Sometimes I'll take a detour to Bali district and cycle around there too. Love the vid! 😀

I am going to Taiwan in 4 months. and I am bringing my road bike . Can anyone recommend a hostel in Tai Pei? and what do they usually cost etc. any info would be greatly appreciated. I always hear the people in Taiwan are very nice. Is this true?

I totally agree with you about the bike paths in Japan. I really don't under stand why they aren't better? The Japanese gov spends so much money on infrastructure but no bike paths. Even though there are 100,000,000 registered bikes in Japan. Great vlog BTW.

Thanks so much for watching and all of the positive feedback. I have a lot more amazing content to share, and each day my filming/editing skills are improving (Maybe it's only in my head though haha).
I'm planning to do about 15 videos for this series, so stay tuned for more! The grand finale is going to be EPIC!
